2025 Roller Ski Lesson Themed Sessions
A number of the UCLan Roller Ski lessons at the start of 2025 will include cross-country skiing themed session in the second hour slot. These sessions introduce topics to help you move beyond learning technique to become a better all-round cross-country skier on roller skis and snow.

Injury Prevention For Longevity In Cross‑Country And Rollerskiing |

This session provides a practical insight into how to reduce the risk of developing injuries and niggles both in sport and day to day life. This will equip you with some tools and tips to stay healthier and pain free for longer. |

This session focuses on improving balance, agility, and body control, which are essential for efficient and effective cross‑country skiing. The exercises will help skiers build the necessary muscle coordination, stability, and quick reflexes needed to navigate varying terrains, maintain proper technique, and enhance overall performance. |

Kit For Roller Skiing And How It Relates To Cross‑Country Skiing |

The aim of this session is to inform skiers to help them get the best out of buying or hiring roller ski or on-snow kit. Examples of roller skis, snow skis, boots and poles will be available for skiers to examine and where possible to try out. |

Preparing For The Northern Roll Challenge |

This session provides a practical introduction to taking on the Northern Roll Challenge, a series of four one-hour events to be organised by the Manchester, Lakeland, Tyneside Loipers and Yorkshire Dales clubs in May-August 2025. These events are based on completing as many laps as you can within one hour and are aimed at skiers of all abilities, being an excellent way to keep up your rollerski training over the summer months, to chart your progress as skiers, to enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts and to support your club. |
